Volkswagen’s all-new 2025 Tiguan features a fresh design, enhanced performance, and a refined interior tailored for Canadian drivers. Built on the MQB Evo platform, the latest Tiguan offers improved driving dynamics and efficiency and is now available exclusively as a two-row SUV.
Redesigned Exterior
The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan showcases a more commanding presence with an elevated front end, slimmer LED headlights, and an optional illuminated VW logo and light bar. A streamlined rear profile, accentuated by an extended roof spoiler and functional aerodynamic elements, enhances aesthetics and efficiency. The exterior is further complemented by newly designed alloy wheels, starting with standard 17-inch options, progressing to 19-inch wheels on mid-level trims, and topping out with 20-inch wheels on premium models. New paint options also expand the colour palette, offering a dynamic visual appeal.
Interior Enhancements
Inside, the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan has been elevated with high-quality materials and thoughtful design upgrades. Available genuine American walnut wood accents, a redesigned centre console with enhanced storage, and a new steering column-mounted gear selector contribute to a sophisticated cabin layout. Upholstery options include upgraded leather and cloth seating surfaces. The two-row layout provides generous space for both passengers and cargo.
A new infotainment system featuring Volkswagen’s MIB4 interface is a focal point of the interior. A standard 12.9-inch central touchscreen, paired with a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro, delivers an intuitive user experience. An available 15-inch infotainment screen further enhances the experience, offering a customizable interface with the latest software updates. The introduction of ‘Atmospheres’—synchronized ambient lighting and sound settings—allows drivers to personalize their driving environment, with up to five preset modes and a customizable option.
The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan offers a host of advanced features, including wireless charging, App-Connect compatibility, and a premium 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. Comfort amenities such as a three-zone Climatronic system, ventilated front seats with massage functions, and heated rear seats ensure a luxurious experience for all occupants.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan is powered by an updated 2.0-litre turbocharged EA888 engine, now producing 201 horsepower. This represents a notable increase from the previous generation’s 184 horsepower. The vehicle’s overall weight has been reduced by approximately 170 pounds, achieved through the use of aluminum suspension components and high-strength steel, contributing to improved fuel efficiency and driving dynamics. Official fuel economy ratings will be disclosed closer to the vehicle’s market release.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Volkswagen has equipped the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan with an extensive suite of safety features. Available technologies includes semi-automated driving functions such as Travel Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Front Assist, Active Blind Spot Monitor, and Lane Assist. Additional safety enhancements include ten airbags, featuring new driver knee, centre, and rear side airbags.
